HighTower's annual Golf Outing raised over $12,000 for St. Aloysius's assistance programs.
HighTower's 9th Annual Charity Open:
A Huge Success! Thanks to everyone who participated!
On August 22nd, 2007, HighTower held its 9th Annual HighTower Charity Open at Ruffled Feathers Country Club in Lemont, Illinois. St. Aloysius is located near Humboldt Park, an under-privileged community in Chicago. In an effort to assist the St. Aloysius community, HighTower raises donations through annual food and clothing drives, as well as its annual golf outing. St. Aloysius receives all proceeds from the golf outing, raised through golf fees and through corporate sponsorships. This year’s golf outing has raised over $12,000 for the church’s assistance programs.

About St. Aloysius
St. Aloysius, a newly formed parish consisting of the facilities previously known as St. Fidelis and St. Aloysius, is located near Humboldt Park, an underprivileged community in Chicago. The neighborhood has a cultural mix of Polish, African-American, and Hispanic backgrounds. The new parish is able to offer weekly masses in two different languages and provides needy families in the communities it serves with clothing and a year-round food pantry.
In May 2005, Bishop Manz, the Archdiocesan Office of Research and Planning, Sister Leonette Kaluzny (pastoral coordinator of St. Fidelis), and Rev. Nicholas R. Desmond (pastor of St. Aloysius) decided to petition for the closing of St. Fidelis and the merger of its community with St. Aloysius. This was the culmination of three years of meetings and planning among four parishes, including St. Helen's and St. Mark's. The Cardinal approved this merger plan in August 2005.
Since 1995, HighTower's annual food and clothing drives have helped the many families in the Humboldt Park community. Our annual Charity Golf Outing has raised thousands of dollars each year. HighTower employees go all out at Christmas every year for the kids at St. Fidelis.
